Project 10:27

Get Involved: Become a Volunteer

At Project 10:27, we believe that one caring person can make a lasting difference in the life of a senior adult. Whether through a heartfelt visit, a handwritten note, or a shared moment of joy, our volunteers are the hands and feet of Christ in action—bringing light, connection, and love to those who may otherwise feel forgotten.

We invite you to join us in our mission to eradicate loneliness and social isolation among seniors. There are several meaningful ways to serve, and no matter your age or schedule, there’s a place for you here.

Home Visit Program

Our Senior Home Visit Program offers volunteers the opportunity to connect directly with homebound seniors through monthly in-person visits. Volunteers bring conversation, encouragement, prayer, and joy to seniors living alone or in care settings. These visits are simple yet powerful expressions of compassion—whether you’re playing cards, reading Scripture, or just sitting together over a cup of tea.

No special skills required—just a friendly heart and a willingness to listen.

Crafts, Bingo, and Connection

Each month, we host Arts & Crafts and Bingo Events at senior living communities such as The Heights of Bulverde and Gemstone Senior Living. These family-friendly gatherings are filled with laughter, creativity, and conversation—bringing color and companionship into the lives of senior residents.

Children and musicians are welcome—this is a beautiful opportunity for multigenerational outreach!

Caring Connections Card Program

Through our Card Program, volunteers write heartfelt, handwritten notes that are mailed to seniors across our community. Each card is a simple but powerful reminder to the recipient that they are seen, loved, and not alone.

This is a perfect opportunity for individuals, church groups, businesses, and students to serve from anywhere—on your own schedule.

Yardwork & Acts of Service

Some months, we organize volunteer Work Days where we complete yardwork or light home projects for seniors in need. These hands-on efforts restore not just a home’s appearance, but a senior’s sense of security, dignity, and peace of mind.

Tasks may include mowing, raking, trimming, or basic home exterior cleanup. Great for small groups, youth ministries, and service-minded individuals!

Dates vary—contact us to learn how you can participate in the next project.
